A description of each workshop is below: November 13, 2008 EEO for Supervisors This one-day course is designed to: * Enhance Supervisors Knowledge of Federal Equal Employment Laws and Regulations; * Analyze Complex Legal Theories and Principles of EEO; * Develop skills in EEO Dispute Resolution Techniques; and * Update Supervisors Knowledge of Recent EEOC and Court Decisions on Laws and Regulations November 14, 2008 Preventing Retaliation in the Workplace: A Guide for Supervisors and Managers This highly interactive seminar is designed to provide supervisors with a clear understanding of how to prevent retaliation and the perception of such conduct under various discrimination laws. Through simulations and case studies the participants will analyze recent court and EEOC decisions on retaliation. Participants will receive guidance on how to maintain a work environment free from retaliation. The Instructor Professor Floyd Weatherspoon, of Capital University Law School in (Columbus, Ohio), teaches Labor Law, Labor Arbitration, Employment Discrimination, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar on African-American Males and the Law. He has published in the area of employment discrimination law, and is a frequent speaker at national conferences on this and related topics. Professor Weatherspoon serves on a number of labor arbitration/mediation panels; he is also an External Administrative Judge for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Registration The fee for each workshop is $100 per person and includes a box lunch. CEUs are .6 and the hours are from 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. each day.
