Arrests 9/27/07 Wall St 07-0824 Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for Poss of Marijuana. While on patrol officers observed the suspect smoking a marijuana cigar and stopped the suspect. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Atlanta City Jail Reports 9/27/07 Credit Union 07-0823 A report was filed for fraud. The complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that the suspect cashed a bad check several months ago and promise to make payments to settle the debt. The suspect has not kept up with the payment. The case is being handled by Investigations. Hurt Plaza Parking Deck 07-0824 A report was filed for Entering auto. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that at on 9/26 1:30 pm he parked his car in the parking deck. When he returned his car at 10:00 am the next day he noticed that his passenger window was broken and his laptop bag including his laptop was missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results. Hurt Plaza 07-0826 A report was filed for Vandalism. The complainant, a GSU student stated that at 9:20 a, she parked he car in the parking deck on Hurt Plaza. When she returned at 6:00 pm she noticed her window was broken but nothing was missing. On Tuesday, October 3th 2007 at 4:40 p.m., a female GSU student was approached by a subject near I- lot and asked her if she wanted to buy a laptop. The student said no and continued to walk towards M-deck. When she got to her car in M-deck she felt some one grabbing her butt and noticed that it was the same person that had try to sell her the laptops. The suspect then fled the area. No injuries were reported. The case is being handled by Investigations. M-Deck 07-0842 A report was filed for Sexual Battery. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that a subject offered to sell her a laptop near I -lot. The student refused and continued to walk to her car in M-Deck. When she arrived at her car she felt someone grabbing her behind and turned around. The suspect grabbing her was the same one that offered her the laptop. The suspect fled the area and no injuries were reported. The case is being handled by Investigations. Commons 07-0843 Officers arrested a GSU student for Possession of Marijuana. Officers were called to the suspect's room by the RA. When officers entered the room the student admitted to smoking marijuana and turned over the remaining drugs she had in her possession. On Wednesday, October 10, 2007, a GSU student reported that on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 8:30 p.m., while standing on the sidewalk in front of the Student Recreation Center, a suspect approached him brandishing a handgun and asked him what was in his bag. The suspect fled before taking any property. No one was injured during the robbery. The suspect is described as a black young male, wearing all black and a ski mask. The suspect is in his early 20s, 5'10" in height and 160 to 170 lbs. The suspect also brandished a Black Hand gun. While the officer was crossing the street the suspect's vehicle almost hit the officer. The officer stopped and vehicle and discovered that the suspect had no license and open containers of alcohol. Officers saw the suspect holding a bag of suspected marijuana. The officers stopped suspect and test the substance which came back with positive results for marijuana. The complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that on 10/3/07 they placed a restriction boot on a vehicle in blue lot. At 6:00 am on 10/4/07 the staff member stated that car and the boot were missing. The complainant, a GSU student stated that on 10/3/07 he walked to his car on Broad Street, set his book bag down next to his car and then got into his car forgetting the bag. The complainant, a Former GSU student, stated that three suspect who stated that they were in the same fraternity has him escorted him to a bath room where they ripped his shirt and exchanged words. The compliant, a GSU staff member, stated that at 1:45 pm she left her office with her purse under her desk. When she returned at 2:35 pm she noticed that her wallet was missing. When officers arrived they identified the smoke as a non-fire possible chemical agent and evacuated the area. Atlanta Fire HAZMAT was called in and cleaned up the spill. The cause of the spill was an accident. 5 GSU staff member suffered breathing problems and were taken to Grady Hospital. Arrests 10/17/07 Commons 07-0894 Officers issued a GSU Student a Criminal Trespass Warning. Officers responded to the commons to meet with a student who was arrested the day before for drug possession charges. The student was also told by housing not to return until housing contacted him. Officers located the suspect and issued him a CTW ordering him again no to return. While processing the suspect he admitted to being under the influence of MDMA (ecstasy) and EMS was notified. EMS transported the suspect to Grady for observation. G-deck 07-0896 Officers arrested a non-GSU individual as an agency assist. The officers were called to G-Deck in reference to a person looking into vehicles. When the officers arrived they located the suspect and conducted a criminal history check which came back positive with an active warrant for the suspect. The case is being handled by Investigations. Library Plaza 07-0912 Officers issued a non-GSU individual a Criminal Trespass Warning. Officers responded to a panhandler in the plaza. Officers located the suspect, issued him a CTW and escorted him off campus. Student Center 07-0913 A report was filed for fraud. The complainant, a GSU Student, stated that on 10/15/07 he used an ATM in the Student Center and left his card in the ATM. He also stated that someone used his card to withdraw funds. Arrests No arrests were made. Reports 10/25/07 K-Deck 07-0922 A report was filed for a Suicide. Officers responded to call of person who jumped from K-deck. Officers arrived on scene and secured the area. A Grady doctor was on scene and pronounced the person dead on scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations was called in to processes the crime scene. The person was not a GSU student, Staff or Faculty. M-Deck 07-024 A report was filed for Entering Auto. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 10:30 am he parked his car in M-Deck. When he returned at 4:00 pm he noticed his window was broken and his laptop was missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results. 10/26/07 Commons 07-0925 A report was filed for Possession of Drugs. Officers responded to a call of an odor of marijuana. Officers searched the room and found over an ounce of marijuana. The case is being handled by Investigations. Arrests 10/26/07 K- Deck 07-0930 Officers arrested two non-GSU individual for Kidnapping. While walking to her vehicle a GSU student was kidnapped at gun point and forced to withdraw fund from her bank account. The suspects later let her go without harming her. Police were able to locate the suspects and arrested both suspects. The suspects were processed and taken to Fulton County Jail were they are being held without bond. The student suffered no injuries. Reports 10/26/07 Commons 07-0927 Officers issued a GSU student a Criminal Trespass Warning. Officers were called by an RA who stated the suspect was told not to be in the Commons by himself. The suspect refused to comply with the RA's request and was issued a CTW from the Commons. The suspect was escorted out of the commons without incident. 10 Park Pl 07-0929 A report was filed for Theft of lost or mislaid property. The complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that on 10/24/07 she noticed that a GSU Laptop was missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results.
