         Georgia State University Police Department 
The following is a summary of Georgia State University Police reports
from 7:00 a.m. October 4, 2007 through 7:00 a.m. October 12, 2007.

 

Arrests

 

10/10/07

Peachtree St @ Marietta St.

07-0867      Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for Driving without
a license. While the officer was crossing the street the suspect's
vehicle almost hit the officer. The officer stopped and vehicle and
discovered that the suspect had no license and open containers of
alcohol. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County
Jail. 

 

10/11/07

Broad St Plaza

07-0873       Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for Possession of
marijuana. Officers saw the suspect holding a bag of suspected
marijuana. The officers stopped suspect and test the substance which
came back with positive results for marijuana. The suspect was arrested,
processed and taken to Atlanta City Jail. 

 

Reports
10/4/07

Blue Lot

08-0847       A report was filed for theft. The complainant, a GSU
staff member, stated that on 10/3/07 they placed a restriction boot on a
vehicle in blue lot.  At 6:00 am on 10/4/07 the staff member stated that
car and the boot were missing. The case is being handled by
Investigations.        

 

Aderhold

07-0848       A report was filed for Theft of lost or mislaid property.
The complainant, a GSU student stated that on 10/3/07 he walked to his
car on Broad Street, set his book bag down next to his car and then got
into his car forgetting the bag.  When he returned the next day his bag
was missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results.

 

Urban life

07-0849       A report was filed for Assault. The complainant, a Former
GSU student, stated that three suspect who stated that they were in the
same fraternity has him escorted him to a bath room where they ripped
his shirt and exchanged words. The case is being handled by
Investigations.  

 

College of Business

07-0850       A report was filed for theft from building. The
compliant, a GSU staff member, stated that at 1:45 pm she left her
office with her purse under her desk. When she returned at 2:35 pm she
noticed that her wallet was missing. A search of the area was conducted
with negative results. 

 

10/5/07

Classroom South

07-0851       A report was filed for Criminal Damage to property. The
complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that at 8:30 am he noticed a
card reader in Classroom South had been damaged.  The case is being
handled by Investigations.       

 

Library South

07-0852       A report was filed for theft of lost or mislaid property.
The complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 5:00 pm he left his book
bag in the library. When he returned at 8:30 pm he noticed one of his
books was missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative
results. 

 

Urban Life

07-0853       A report was filed for Theft from building. The
complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that she left a CD her desk
drawer on 10/4/07. When she returned the next day she noticed the CD was
missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results.

 

Classroom South

07-0854       A report was filed for Chemical Spill. Officers were
called to Classroom South for a Fire call. When officers arrived they
identified the smoke as a non-fire possible chemical agent and evacuated
the area.  Atlanta Fire HAZMAT was called in and cleaned up the spill.
The cause of the spill was an accident.  5 GSU staff member suffered
breathing problems and were taken to Grady Hospital.  They were released
from Grady and no other injuries were reported. 

 

10/8/07

Rec Center

07-0858       A report was filed for Theft from building. The
complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 9:00 am he fell asleep in the
Rec Center. When he awoke at 10:00 am he noticed his book bag was
missing. The case is being handled by Investigations. 

 

Rec Center

07-0859       A report was filed for Theft from building. The
complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 9:00 am she fell asleep in
the Rec Center. When she awoke at 10:00 am she noticed her cell phone
was missing. The case is being handled by Investigations. 

 

University Commons

07-0860       A report was for Theft of ID.  The complainant, a GSU
student, stated that his former partner took a credit card out in his
name. The case is being handled by Investigations. 

 

10/9/07

Arts and humanities

07-0862       A report was filed for theft from building. the
complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 6:00 pm she left her book bag
in the AH building. When she returned at 6:20 pm she noticed her bag was
missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results. 

 

Library South

07-0863       A report was filed for theft from build. The complainant,
a GSU student, stated that at 8:45 pm she left a GSU laptop in her study
area and went to the restroom. When she returned 5 minutes later she
noticed the laptop was missing. A search of the area was conducted with
negative results. 

 

10/10/07      

Rec Center

07-0865       A report was filed for Robbery. The complainant, a GSU
student, stated that on 10/4/07 at 8:30 pm a suspect approach him,
brandishing a weapon and asked him what was in his bag. The suspect fled
without taking anything and no injuries were reported. The case is being
handled by Investigations.

 

Courtland Building.

07-0866       A report was filed for theft from building.  The
complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that on 10/5/07 a TV was placed
into a storage room. On 10/10 she noticed the TV was missing. The case
is being handled by Investigations.

 

Natural Science Center

07-07868     A report was filed for theft of lost or mislaid property.
The complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that at 2:15 pm she noticed
her keys were missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative
results. 

 

10/11/07

Rec Center

07-0870       A report was filed for theft from building. the
complainant, a GSU student, stated that on 10/1/07 he secured his
locker. When he returned on 10/11 he noticed his locker was broken and
its contents missing. The case is being handled by Investigations. 

 

Commons

07-0871       A report was filed for Battery. The complainant, a GSU
student stated that her and another female have been fight for several
days. On 10/11/07 the female hit her.   The case is being handled by
Investigations. 

 

Urban Life

07-0872       A report was filed for Terroristic threats. The
complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that someone left a threatening
message on her voice mail. The case is being handled by Investigations.
