On Tuesday, September 4th 2007 at 5:38 a.m., a male GSU student was approached by a subject, who ordered the student to hand over his money at gun point. The student told the suspect he had no money and the suspect stuck him with the weapon. The student refused any medical attention. The suspect was described as a black male approximately. 6'00"-6'02" in height, stocky build, bald, wearing a white polo shirt with multi colored stripes, dirty blue jean shorts and dirty white tennis shoes, approached the student and said give me your money. The suspect was carrying a gray handgun. On Tuesday, September 4th 2007 at 10:55 p.m., a male GSU student was approached by a subject, asked for $5. The student gave the suspect $5 and then four more suspects approached the student striking him in the head and taking his wallet. No injuries were reported and the student refused any medical attention. The suspects were described as black males. The first suspect was approximately. 5'10 in height, wearing a green shirt. Arrests 8/28/07 University Bookstore 07-0705 Officers arrested a GSU Student as an Agency Assist. The student was attempting to buy books and forgot to sign her check. When the cashier handed the check back the student walked away thinking it was her receipt. The bookstore called officers to try and located the girl with her driver's license number. When officers checked the number they found the name of the student and that she was wanted on a warrant. The student was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. Calhoun Park 07-0707 Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for Poss of Cocaine. Officers observed the suspect attempting to swallow something when he saw officers approaching. Officers were able to stop the suspect and retrieve the drugs from him. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. 8/29/07 Decatur at Piedmont 07-0712 Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for Theft. The suspect was seen breaking into a news paper box. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. Reports 8/27/07 General Classroom Building 07-0703 Officers issued a non-GSU individual a Criminal Trespass Warning. The officers observed the suspect loitering in the building. The suspect was not a student and had no reason for being in the building. The suspect was issued a CTW and escorted off campus. Campus 07-070 4 A report was filed for Stalking. The complainant, a GSU Student, stated that for the past year she has noticed a man following her. The case is being handled by Investigations. 8/28/07 Commons Parking Deck 07-0706 A report was filed for Entering Auto. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that when she returned to her car at 3:00 pm she noticed her door had been tampered with but nothing was missing. M-deck 07-0708 A report was filed for Vandalism. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 6:00 pm she returned to her car and saw that someone had cut her vinyl top open. The case is a being handled by Investigations. Blue Lot 07-0710 A report was filed for recovered property. An officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Blue lot and ran the tag. The vehicle came back stolen. A search of the vehicle yielded a purse with an ID that did not belong to the owner. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 7:00 pm she noticed her wallet was missing. A search of the area was conducted with negative results. 9/1/07 Commons 07-0719 Officers issued a non-GSU individual a Criminal Trespass Warning. The complainant, a RA, stated that she saw the suspect walking around and using a Common's access card by himself. The suspect was the boyfriend of a resident and he was unescorted. The student was advised not to allow any non-resident to walk around by themselves. 9/4/07 Peachtree Center MARTA Station 07-0720 A report was filed for Robbery. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that at 5:35 am he was leaving the MARTA station when a black male ordered him to hand over his money. The officers were called by the RA on duty to a loud noise call. After entering the room officers observed 63 people in the lofts room. Some of the guests were under the age of 21 but the resident was not. The resident of the room was charge and arrested. He was later released on a copy of charges. The complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that she left her purse unattended in her office from 5:30 pm to 6:30 p.m. She noticed the wallet ($10) missing the next day when she went to make a purchase. M Parking Deck A report was filed for Failure to Leave Notice upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that she parked her car at 8:30 a.m. in the parking deck. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that he placed his Saxophone ($3,000) next to him while he fell asleep on the 3rd floor of the Student Center. When he woke up, the instrument was stolen. While on patrol the officer observed the suspect failing to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. A traffic stop was initiated which came back stating that the suspect was not licensed and did not have valid insurance on the vehicle. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. The vehicle was impounded by A-Tow. Barbara Ashley Square (5 Points) Officers arrested two non-GSU individuals for Possession of Drugs with intent to Distribute. While on patrol the officers observed the two individuals that are known drug offenders. The suspects were arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. The complainant, a GSU Staff member, stated that she last saw her laptop on 9/10/07 at 7:00 a.m. on the floor next to her desk. She did not notice it missing until 9/20/07. University Center (Bookstore) A report was filed for Fraud. The complainant, a GSU staff member, stated that a purchase was made on 9/5/07 for $2190. They were notified on 9/6/07 that the form of payment was made on a closed checking account. Student Center A report was filed for Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that she last used her phone when she was in the Student Center. When she went to retrieve her phone ($264) from her purse it was missing. University Commons A report was filed for Criminal Trespass Warning. Officers responded to a disturbance call on the 2nd floor of Building B. Upon arrival, a non-GSU individual, and a GSU student, admitted to having an altercation. The victim did not was to press charges against the suspect. The suspect was issued a CTW and escorted off the property. Aderhold Learning Center A report was filed for Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that she last saw her pouch with contents when she was in General Classroom Building between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. She has not been able to find it since then and wanted to report it missing. Arrests 9/24/07 Decatur Street/Piedmont Avenue Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for an Outstanding Non-Felony Warrant. The officer observed the suspect drive through a red light. A Driver History check was conducted which yielded positive results for a Non-Felony Warrant out of Athens Clarke County. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. Reports 9/24/07 Student Center A report was filed for Criminal Trespass Warning. While on patrol the officer observed an individual behaving in a suspicious manner. A field interview was conducted and found that the individual did not have any business with Georgia State University. The suspect was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted off campus without incident. University Commons (Building A) A report was filed for Odor of Marijuana. The officer responded to a complaint that there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the 8th floor. Upon searching the room, it was determined that two individuals had been smoking marijuana. The non-GSU individual was given a Criminal Trespass Warning. The resident will be disciplined by Housing Staff. The complainant, a non-GSU individual, stated that a customer became hostile about her account issues. The suspect left the bank and later returned and kicked the window on the door causing the glass to break. A search of the suspect was made with negative results. Arts & Humanities A report was filed for Theft by Taking. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that he placed his duffle bag containing his laptop ($1500) in his locker at 4:00 p.m. When he returned at 8:00 p.m. the lock was open but still on the locker and the duffle bag had been taken.
