The following is a summary of Georgia State University Police reports
from 7:00 a.m. September 14, 2007 through 7:00 a.m. September 19, 2007.

 

Arrests
 9/14/07

Peachtree Center Ave/Gilmer Street

Officers arrested a non-GSU individual for Driving on Suspended
License.  The officer observed the suspect driving in the wrong
direction on Gilmer Street. A Driver History check was conducted which
yielded positive results for suspended license. The suspect was
arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. 

 

9/15/07

Calhoun Park

Officers arrested two non-GSU individuals for Possession of Drugs with
intent to Distribute. While on patrol the officers observed the two
individuals conducting a drug transaction. The suspects were arrested,
processed and taken to Fulton County Jail.

 

9/17/07

Broad Street

A report was filed for Disorderly Conduct. The officer observed a
non-GSU individual urinating on the plants in front of Moe's Restaurant.
The suspect was placed under arrest, processed and transported to Fulton
County Jail.

 

9/18/07

Student Recreation Center

A report was filed for Criminal Trespass. The officer observed the
suspect sitting on the wall in front of the Student Recreation Center
panhandling. The officer recognized the suspect from prior contact.  The
suspect had previously been issued at Criminal Trespass Warning. The
suspect was arrested, processed and taken to Fulton County Jail. 

 

Woodruff Park

A report was filed for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. The
complainant, a GSU student, contacted Police and stated that he lost his
cell phone while walking from Aderhold Learning Center to the University
Center. The complainant called his cell phone and a male answered the
phone requesting an award for the return of the phone. Officers met with
the suspect and determined that it was the complainant's phones. The
suspect also had in his possession another cell phone belonging to a
non-GSU individual. The suspect was arrested, processed and taken to
Fulton County Jail.

 

Reports
 9/14/07

University Center

A report was filed for Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property. The complainant,
a GSU staff member, stated that she left her purse unattended in her
office from 5:30 pm to 6:30 p.m.  She noticed the wallet ($10) missing
the next day when she went to make a purchase. 

M Parking Deck

A report was filed for Failure to Leave Notice upon Striking an
Unattended Vehicle. The complainant, a GSU student, stated that she
parked her car at 8:30 a.m. in the parking deck. When she returned at
6:00 p.m. she noticed that her vehicle had been damaged. 

 

University Commons

A report was filed for Criminal Trespass Warning. The complainant, a
GSU student, stated that her roommate's boyfriend was being verbally
abusive to her. The suspect was located in the lobby and issued a CTW.
The incident was documented by the Housing staff. 

 

9/15/07

Edgewood Avenue

A report was filed for Entering Auto. The complainant, a GSU student,
stated that he parked his vehicle at 12:00 a.m. in the parking lot next
to the Lofts. When he returned at 1:25 a.m. his passenger front side
window was shattered. Missing from his vehicle was his Toshiba laptop
($900), IPod ($250) and his computer bag.

9/17/07

G Parking Deck

A report was filed for Failure to Leave Notice upon Striking an
Unattended Vehicle. The complainant, a GSU Staff member, stated that he
parked his vehicle at 8:40 a.m. on 9/14/07 and went to work. The
complainant did not realize until the next day that his vehicle has
damage to the passenger side rear door and corner panel. 

 

Student Center

A report was filed for Theft by Taking. The complainant, a GSU student,
stated that he placed his Saxophone ($3,000) next to him while he fell
asleep on the 3rd floor of the Student Center. When he woke up, the
instrument was stolen. 

 

Walton @ Forsyth Street

A report was filed for Disturbance Incident. While on patrol the
officer observed a non-GSU individual yelling at people and running in
and out of stores on Broad Street. After speaking with the individual it
was determined that he was mentally unstable. The individual was
transported to Grady Hospital.

 

9/18/07

Student Center

A report was filed for Theft by Taking. The complainant, a GSU student,
stated that she placed her book bag ($70) on the floor next to her while
she slept for approximately an hour. When she woke up her book bag along
with contents ($310) had been stolen

 

General Classroom Building

A report was filed for Theft of Lost/Mislaid Property. The complainant,
a GSU student, stated that at about 7:00 p.m. she entered the Women's
restroom on the 6th floor. She laid her black bag and purse outside the
restroom door. She returned at 7:30 p.m. and found that her bag was not
there.
